Fully Funded Indian Government (ICCR) Scholarships 2021/22

 


The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India’s first Education Minister. Its objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programs pertaining to India’s external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries; to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people, and to develop relations with nations.


INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES FOR FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM

  • All entries (except the signature) in the application should be filled incorrectly.
  • Application should be complete in all respects, with all the required information and all necessary supporting documents, as listed below:
    • A recent passport size photograph not more than 3.5x4.5cm (25kb) should be uploaded on the application form in the space provided.The photograph should be with white background and without spectacles.
    • Copies of all academic qualifications, certificates and marksheet, including those relating to school leaving examination must be uploaded.
    • A certificate of physical fitness in the prescribed form.
    • Recommendations / character certificates from existing school/University etc
    • Certified copies of relevant pages of candidate’s valid passport showing photograph, name, contact details, date of issue, date of expiry and place of issue. Please ensure that your passport is valid for the duration of the course for which you have applied.
    • At the time of uploading the required documents kindly ensure that all documents uploaded correctly in the given module e.g. module for educational certificates should only be uploaded with the educational certificates only not other documents such as passport copies or photographs etc.

The Journalist Fellowship Program at the Reuters Institute is one of the world’s leading schemes for practicing, mid-career journalists to take some time out from their day jobs to explore journalism in-depth. The majority of our Journalist Fellows are fully-funded and they also receive a stipend to cover living and travel costs.

Our Fellowships

Through personal research, seminars, networking events and discussions with your peers, you will further your understanding of journalism, the news industry and your place in it. While you are in Oxford, you will work on a project that will be of direct impact to you, your career, your newsroom and the wider media industry, bringing in what you learn during your time in the fellowship. This is a program for working journalists and editors who will return to journalism after spending a few months with us. 


Most journalists on the program are fully funded. University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship


 

All University Graduate Scholarships (UGS) recipients must be full-time, fully-qualified students who are either continuing their program or are in the process of being admitted into a graduate degree program. Students must be in the first 36 months of a Master’s degree program or the first 48 months of a Doctoral degree program to apply for or hold a UGS. Applicants must have a minimum of 80% average as a continuing student or entrance average as a prospective student.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

Candidates are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria for the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship;

  • Applicants must be international students.
  • Students admitted into the master's and PhD degree program.
  • The award is available for masters & Ph.D. students in various courses offered at the University.
  • Other factors such as community service, leadership qualities, and levels of motivation will also be taken into consideration.
  • Based on academic merit
  • The student must be registered or continuing in a graduate degree program or have been recommended for admission to a graduate degree program in the College of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Saskatchewan.
  • The student must have a minimum of 80% average as a continuing student or entrance average as a prospective student. The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by World Learning.

Global UGRAD will provide a select group of 250 students with scholarships for one academic semester of undergraduate, non-degree study in the United States. The scholarship will cover international travel, tuition, room and board, accident/sickness insurance, a small monthly stipend, and funding for books. Global UGRAD is a substantive exchange program designed to expose students to the U.S. educational system, society, and culture. Finalists represent diverse disciplines, from architecture to engineering, biochemistry to literature, and education. A small number of students will also receive additional English language training in the US prior to the start of their academic program. Students will live in university dormitories and will have the opportunity to participate in campus organizations and activities. All students are required to participate in volunteer community service activities and are encouraged to participate in professional development activities as part of the Global UGRAD Program. Exposure to U.S. civil society, as well as the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States, gives the participants a strong example of tolerance in a democratic society.
Since 2008, World Learning has placed and monitored over 1,000 Global UGRAD students at over 60 colleges and universities, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, women's colleges, and community colleges. Participants leave the United States with the tools to become leaders in their professions and communities. Global UGRAD alumni go on to receive Fulbright grants, obtain prestigious international internships, and work in business and government in their home countries.

Romanian government awards for Foreign Students in Romania, 2021-2022


 

Applications are invited for Romanian Government scholarships available for citizens of non-EU countries. Up to 85 opportunities are awarded for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. studies in Romania.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the institution of central public administration which implements the foreign policy of Romania, in accordance with the legislation in force and with the Government’s Program.

In order to promote the Romanian language and culture, the Ministry of National Education Scientific Research has decided that the beneficiaries of The grants should study only in the Romanian language. The candidates who do not know Romanian are offered one supplementary preparatory year to study the language.

  • Application Deadline: April 30, 2021
  • Course Level: The studentships are available for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Romania.
  • Study Subject:  The bursaries are awarded for 3 study cycles: a) for the first cycle (licenta): This scheme is dedicated to graduates of high schools or of equivalent pre-university studies, as well as to candidates who require the continuation of their studies in Romania. The complete cycle of university studies lasts for 3 to 6 years, according to the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a final examination (licenta).b) for the 2nd cycle (master): This scheme is dedicated to graduates of university/post-graduate studies; it lasts for 1,5 to 2 years and ends with a dissertation. c) for the 3rd cycle (doctorate) this scheme is dedicated to the graduates of university/postgraduate studies (i.e. master); it lasts for 3-4 years, in keeping with the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a doctor’s thesis. Admission to a Ph.D. course is conditioned by an entrance examination. The fields of study are political and administrative sciences, education sciences, Romanian culture and civilization, journalism, technical studies, oil and gas, agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, architecture, visual arts.
  • Language of study: In order to promote the Romanian language and culture among foreign citizens, the beneficiaries of scholarships granted by the Romanian state should study only in the Romanian language. The candidates who do not know Romanian are offered one supplementary preparatory year to study the language.
  • Awards: The scholarship consists of:
    • Free-of-charge tuition
    • Free-of-charge accommodation (depending on availability, accommodation will be offered free-of-charge in students halls of residence, in keeping with the higher education regulations and within the limits of the sums available for this purpose)
    • Financial support – a monthly amount representing: the equivalent in Romanian currency of 65 EURO per month, for undergraduate students (1st cycle),  the equivalent in Romanian currency of 75 EURO per month, for post-graduate students (master degrees and specialization) 2nd cycle,  the equivalent in Romanian currency of 85 EURO per month, for postgraduate students (doctorate degree) 3rd cycle.
    • these endowments do not cover food, international and local transport. The candidates must be prepared to personally support any other additional expenses.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Citizens of non-EU countries can apply for these Romanian government scholarships.
  • Entrance Requirements:
    1. Foreign citizens coming from all the states of the world, except for EU member states. Foreign citizens of Romanian origin and those belonging to the neighboring historic Romanian communities benefit from other programs.
    2. The applicant for the opportunity must not hold Romanian citizenship, did not request or did not obtain a form of protection in Romania, is not a stateless person whose residence on Romanian territory is officially recognized according to the law, is not a member of the diplomatic corps accredited to Bucharest or member of a family of the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania, has not benefited from a scholarship from the Romanian state on the same course of study.
    3. The applicant for the opportunity must present study papers issued by accredited/recognized educational institutions, have good results in education, respectively an average of the study years of at least 7 (seven) corresponding to the scoring system in Romania or the “Good” score, as the case.
    4. The applicant for the opportunity has not, until 31 December of the year in which he/she was nominated, more than 35 years of age – for bachelor and master studies and 45 years respectively – for doctoral studies or for postgraduate studies, including health field.

    The bursaries are awarded for 3 study cycles:

    a) For the first cycle (licenta): This scheme is dedicated to graduates of high schools or of equivalent pre-university studies, as well as to candidates who require the continuation of their studies in Romania. The complete cycle of university studies lasts for 3 to 6 years, according to the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a final examination (licenta).

Application Procedure:

Introduction: Application files must be submitted through diplomatic missions. Application files submitted by post or directly to the MFA or to the MNE, as well as application files received after the announced deadline will not be taken into consideration.

How to Apply: The registration period begins on 14 December 2021. The candidate should enquire at the diplomatic mission where he intends to submit the application file about the enrolment calendar. The deadline for submitting the application files is established by each diplomatic mission.

  • Incomplete or non-compliant dossiers with the fields of study and methodology are considered disqualified and will not be evaluated by the MFA committee. The files of the rejected candidates following the evaluation of the MFA and MNE committees are not returned. Dossiers filed directly with the MFA or MNE registration offices are not considered.

Documents required completing the file: The application file must contain the following documents:

  • Official letter issued by the diplomatic mission of the country of origin accredited to Bucharest or the diplomatic mission of Romania in the country of origin or residence;
  • The MFA application form (Appendix 1) for an award in Romania, filled in correctly;
  • The MNE application form (Appendix 2) for the issue of the Letter of acceptance to study in Romania;
  • Legalized copies of the obtained study diplomas (baccalaureate diploma or it’s equivalent + bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degrees if any) and their legalized translation into one of the following languages: English, French or Romanian, if required;
  • Legalized copies of matriculation sheets/diploma supplements related to graduate studies and their legalized translation, if applicable;
  • Legalized copy of the birth certificate and certified translation in one of the following languages: English, French or Romanian;
  • Copy of the first 3 pages of the passport;
  • The medical certificate attesting to the fact that the person enrolling in the study does not have contagious diseases or other conditions incompatible with the required studies;
  • Curriculum Vitae of the applicant;
  • Recent photos – 2 pieces, passport format.

The files will also be filled in with the following documents (only for candidates falling within the specific category mentioned for each document):

  • Proof of name change (if applicable) – copy and legalized translation;
  • The certificate attesting the passing of the baccalaureate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral exam, as the case may be, for current year’s graduates – copy and certified translation;
  • Certificate of graduation of the Romanian preparatory year or Language Proficiency Certificate, if applicable;
  • Declaration on parental consent in case of juvenile candidates (in one of the following languages: English, French or Romanian).

Procedure for file analysis and selection of scholars

  • The MFA checks the application files and presents the files that are eligible to the MFA Selection Board. The files selected by the MFA Commission will be forwarded to the MNE Selection Board.
  • The members of the two commissions evaluate the application files according to the scientific competencies of the candidates, as well as the chosen field of study.
  • The Boards will approve, within the number of places, the list of accepted candidates.

1. Both an applicant and his/her parents must be citizens of their country of origin.

4. Possess a grade point average (G.P.A.) above 80% from the last educational

 Application procedure


1. There are 64 universities designated by NIIED for the KGSP program as at 2020.


2. To submit your application, you either apply via the embassy or university track.

For the embassy track, you can select up to three universities and after documents review and interview you are admitted to one of them. This is coordinated by the Korean embassy in your home country.

 In the second case, you send the documents to only one university of your choice and they select or reject you on the basis of your documents.  Interview of applicants is done via email or phone call.

Your CGPA, discipline, no of publications, research plan, SOP count. While Professor acceptance is optional, it's never a bad idea. You may be offered a Professor scholarship if you do not make the KGSP list.

The Korean embassy in Abuja is the best route to submit for Nigerians whereas in other countries, kindly confirm accordingly. No of the recipient from Nigeria yearly (Embassy-4, University-8).

 3.  Notarization of academic credentials (optional for some universities, please confirm beforehand) can only be done at the Korean embassy. The main documents must first be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria.

 I submitted high court certified documents while applying but over time, things seem to have changed.

4. The Research Program applicants must receive invitations from universities prior to applying to

this program. The applicants submit their application either to the Korean embassy in the

country where they hold citizenship or to one of our partner universities.
